The Elm Tree

The Elm Tree is located in Ringwood (off the A31 Southampton-Bournemouth road)

From Southampton and the east :
On the A31, continue for 1.5 miles past Picket Post Shell service area down the hill toward Ringwood and take the exit signposted “Hightown, Poulner, Crow” and also “Owl Sanctuary”. Continue over the mini-roundabout for 200yds taking the first left turn, Eastfield Lane (Signposted Hightown and Owl Sanctuary). Continue, for almost 0.5 miles down Eastfield Lane into Hightown Road and follow the road around a left-hand bend. The Elm Tree is on your left with the entrance to the car park immediately before the pub. (There is another road off the A31 as you start to descend from Picket Post - but I found it a slower route when I tried it.)

From Bournemouth and the West :
After driving over the fly-over on the A31 at Ringwood, continue for another 0.75 miles turning off the A31 immediately after passing under a bridge and signposted to Hightown, Poulner, Crow" and also “Owl Sanctuary”. Continue to follow the signs for Hightown and the Owl Sanctuary as you make a couple of left turns to cross over the A31. Turn right at the mini-roundabout after crossing over the A31 and then, after a further 200yds, take the first left turn, Eastfield Lane (Signposted Hightown and Owl Sanctuary). Continue, for almost 0.5 miles down Eastfield Lane into Hightown Road and follow the road around a left-hand bend. The Elm Tree is on your left with the entrance to the car park immediately before the pub.

From Salisbury :
Upon reaching the A31 junction, turn left toward Southampton. Continue along the A31 for another 0.75 miles turning off the A31 immediately after passing under a bridge and signposted to “Hightown, Poulner, Crow” and also “Owl Sanctuary”. Continue to follow the signs for Hightown and the Owl Sanctuary as you make a couple of left turns to cross over the A31. Turn right at the mini-roundabout after crossing over the A31 and then, after a further 200yds, take the first left turn, Eastfield Lane (Sign - posted Hightown and Owl Sanctuary). Continue, for almost 0.5 miles down Eastfield Lane into Hightown Road and follow the road around a left-hand bend. The Elm Tree is on your left with the entrance to the car park immediately before the pub.
