Wessex Club PG XC League
International PG 2021 - xcleague.com
The start of the 2021 XC flying season was impacted by COVID 19 restrictions. The National UK XC league, which hosts the Wessex XC league entries and checks for airspace infringements, only reopened once all of the UK allowed flights in mid April.
Restrictions were eased at different times in the different UK regions of England, Scotland Wales and NI. Prior to the national league opening XC flying was permitted in England. During this period Mark Russell had an amazing five hour record breaking flight: 164 km from Hambledon to Bude (See https://www.xcontest.org/2021/united-kingdom/flights/detail:markrussell/15.04.2021/11:11).
Once the league opened 163 flights were submitted to the Wessex league by 24 pilots. Several Wessex site records were broken, including the out and return at Bell (Sean Staines) and FAI triangle at Bell (Colin Davies) on the same day. The full 2021 results are below.
