The 2023 season proved to be a mixed year for cross country (XC) flying in the Wessex region. Overall the total scores were lower than in recent years. A total of 177 flights were entered by 20 pilots across 71 different days. The full 2023 XC league results are below:

Lemmings Trophy: Colin Davies 36.8 points for an FAI triangle at Bell Hill

For 2023 we introduced a new competition designed to get people used to using the waypoint functions of their GPS - the Bell Hill waypoint challenge. Sixteen pilots entered flights and the inaugural winner was Colin Davies who tagged fifteen of the twenty two waypoints. Both Colin Davies and Sean Staines managed to tag eight waypoints in a single flight.
