Desperation winter flying was had on Portland East on Sunday. The wind had North in it so the absolute worst take off ever was used. It's in rotor, has concrete obstacles in the way, flat rocks that are guaranteed to cut lines (which they did), dog shit everywhere and stubby shrub roots that just grab your lines. The sky was grey and cold and the wind dropped off sooner than forecast. Makes you wander why we bother, roll on spring thermals. Youtube video
