Report from Bell Hill

A more challenging day than yesterday and many fewer Pilots.

It was a case of take the opportunity when it came and it only became consistently stay uppable after 1600hrs.

Report from Bell Hill

At last the forecast turned out to be right. Bell was nifty and thermic most of the day apart from a short lull in proceedings.

Mid week saw more than 30 Pilots on or above the hill. An enjoyable day in the air for many.

Report by Everard Cunion

Gary D enjoyed an extended top-to-bottom flight at Monk's Down shortly before sunset on this clear autumn day. The glider is a Superscorpion, made by Hiway of Abergavenny, Wales, in about 1978. The guy holding a wire in the photo taken before Gary launched is Brian W, the first British hang gliding champion 1974.

Report by Robin Wallace

Despite the date there was good flying at Bell from lunch time until the sun was setting at 5.45. A good 30 paragliders over the day. Several were even flying without jackets it was so warm! Lots of red ribbons flying very well and Vicki and Jane making the most of the sunshine and easy lift in these photos.

Report from Southbourne

Thought it worth the drive to check out Bournemouth seafront on such a sunny day.. Steve S in the air and Tom W just about to take off, SSW but very pleasant. Crossed Boscombe thought better of following Tom over Bournemouth Pier.

A very pleasant interlude of flying.
