Report from Ringstead
A small window of opportunity at Ringers this afternoon.
It was strong and thermic on T.O. in swift time.
Journey out to the cliffs with Grant in orbit (as usual) and the orographic creeping in and over the cliffs.
Only a few making a little playtime. The wind steadily increased and some bar was needed.
All landed safely.

Report from Ballard
Occasional lightness but it worked well for a good 2 hrs. 6 Pilots in the end with a couple of sneaky jaunts halfway to Old Harry. Then too light with Robin scratching it out.

Report from Ringstead
20 wings on the cliffs. One newbie in the trees, and one cut arm trying to move a car (his own).
A classic Ringers day.

Report from Ringstead
Smooth on cliffs and a good time to practise all those things you had promised yourself to do.
Like explore the lift band, use the bar, use "big ears".
Worthwhile observations from friends had me realign and adjust my harness. All in all a good morning at the "Office"

Report from Ringstead
Dribbles of scratchiness on the ridge, initially Derek L braved the conditions and spent over 30mins in front of Holworth before finally getting up and round the Nothe. Others tried and bombed more than once others made it to the Nothe and found it weak. All the while Pilots steadily soaring and gaining height at the Horse..
Seb later made it to Lulworth and back.

Report from Whitehorse & Ringstead
Flag in garden indicated SSE so traipsed to Horse only to find 3 piles sitting down in what was definitely flyable conditions. So with no more to do we were in the air tout suite.
Good height with Dave Mac going over Preston in Weymouth, another Chinnook past in front and below and after 2 hours I found enough height to land back by the road to put wing in the boot and get to Ringstead. Immensely achievable run down to Lulworth with Dave & Simon.
On the way back it had clearly more West in it and just got round the Nothe above a Helicopter just above the sea but creating turbulence up the face of the cliff. Great day in the end, much smiling and happiness.

Report from Maiden Castle
It was bumpy lumpy but perseverance paid off and 1400' amsl allowed transition over the bypass and a close look at Poundbury and another look over the back with Weymouth and Portland clearly to be seen. Joined by the usual suspects.

Pleasant start and gradually got stronger until only the lonely Zeno played at good height.
Maiden cliff flight for Richard F Then the usual parachute on the deck.

Report from Ringstead
A fun day and lots of Pilots enjoying airtime including Seb on his Boomerang.

Report from Bell Hill
Once in the air it was fifty and thermic everywhere. I saw a few deflations (minor ones), not surprised as it was a little feisty occasionally. Although Eric said he was up for 3 hours.
Sean was still searching out the elusive climb as I left. Good to practise those 360s. Used the ears to get down.

Some visiting Pilots joined those in Wessex not working. Good cliff soaring and sharing the air with a couple of Peregrine Falcons.

Report from Ringstead
I plumped for good old faithful Ringers.
Arrived at 0855hrs with 2 already there and wings laid out. It felt fine to me and went straight out to cliffs followed by rest of the keen Pilots. Good to see Adrian B out after a long lay off, and also Richard G in recovery mode with lots of metal around his leg.
It was very pleasant for over an hour and a half, needed to land for a drink and back out with 16 on the cliffs and several more getting ready to fly. I noticed the wind getting fresher and some white water and thought OK time to land and what a landing, caught the foot inside the pod and tried to hop but draped the wing over Davids car, amusing and no damage.
