Report by Jamie Braund

A great thermic day at Whitehorse. Several of Wessex enjoying the fun.
Too busy to take photos in the air and many practising touch & go landings.

Report from Ringstead

A scratchy start and envious looks across to Whitehorse watching 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 doing reasonably well.
Patience did pay off and a cliff run and a partial Coast Run was enjoyed and 3 ventured to Lulworth.

Report from White Horse

A day of odd conditions, some up and some down and the occasional good thermic cycle but not enough to tempt anyone to go over the back. Check out the sky in the photos that may have had something to do with the conditions.

Eager start to the day, out to the cliffs and good lift all the way out. Strange conditions, switching between S & SSE & SSW on the cliffs with some up and down. One went to beach so I headed back to T.O., prudent really as several went to the beach there after. Watched several doing nicely at Whitehorse (where is the Report) 3 left Ringers to head there and then it came good with Grant sneaking down to Bats Head and several Avon Members enjoying the cliffs. Congratulations to Josh Ellis on his maiden flight to the cliffs.

A second day at the Horse, lots of different level ~Pilots enjoying some good thermic conditions, ( nothing above 1300') But very pleasant. 18 Pilots at one time enjoying the conditions. Later in the day could see others chancing it at Ringstead. Maybe tomorrow?

Report from Ringstead

Coast Run Lulworth - A cold grey start to the day. Some very large clouds and also occasional rain over Weymouth.
Arrived after consulting the "runes", wind very SSE and flyable strength. Sat in the car and consumed lunch.
Grant arrived as the wind came S a few choice words and we took to the sky. I found the air very S and chose to correct my route accordingly. As I got to White Nothe I could see Grant already doing wingovers low at Durdle Door. I checked my Into wind and Steve scooted past and headed in a straight line to Dungy Head. Martin joined us and we flew around going halfway across Lulworth and finding the wind now SSW. After a while it was back to the Nothe and then landed and another boat down the coast, I went as far as Bats Head this time and although the wind was more SW there was plenty of lift to make it back. Landed as the rain shower was approaching and it was then back in the air before finding the wind chill was definetly penetrating the clothes. Observed several at Whitehorse enjoying themselves.

Report from Ringstead

The CANP was submitted, Coastguard and Portland Heliport advised of our presence. A slow start to the day with some pleasant thermals developing on the ridge, tested Steve's Delta 4, pleasant and solid, responds well.
The madding hordes arrived with the breeze, lots of happy Pilots. The cliffs worked well with some thermals dripping up the cliffs. Seb & Dale throwing their 2 liners about. Avon Posse having a great time and some Joint Services.

Report from Ringstead

An early start at Ringers as the forecast had changed a little. Already 16-18mph on arrival at 0915hrs.Canp was already in and phoned Coastguard.
Too many Pilots too mention but an Avon Posse were on our tails. It was a strong, cold morning.
I couldn't feel my fingers after an hour so landed and decided to head to the Hive.

Report from Hive Beach

After landing Ringers it was a journey to the Cogden Beach to explore the Coast.
Several Avon Members and several Wessex enjoyed a couple of hours, some making it to Spittles just before Lyme Regis and others extending that journey to Abbotsbury, well done Sean. The 3 Amigos were up and down, back & forth, here and there. An interesting day .

Report from Ringstead

It took a while for the breeze to kick in, although there was plenty of lift and thermals on the ridge to start.
Too many Pilots to mention, but one visitor ended up in a bush below White Nothe and much aerial activity was enjoyed.
