Report from White Horse

   
Well now we started the day at Ringstead hopeful for a run to Kimmeridge we were thwarted by Orographic cloud that came in from Portland & Durdle and got more embedded as time went on.
A message came through that one was in the air at Whitehorse so decision made. Arrived to see 3 in the air and a couple more getting set up.
It didn't take long to get. airborne and enjoy the thermals.About twenty Pilots by 1530 hrs when it decided to switch off.
Strange to see such a mixed bunch, with wings 20 years old and Pilots who had been flying for more than 30yrs.

Report from Ringstead & Jurassic Coast

   
2 Sites in a day. Started at Ringstead & it was nicely flyable straight away had an hour and a half before it got too strong.
Then it was off further westward for a low take off to the Jurassic Cliffs. Had half an hour before Sean said it was too strong.
Enjoyable nonetheless.

Report from Bell Hill

   
A fairly good day at Bell. Thermals galore, some early ones were a bit bolshie, but they improved as the day went into evening, really smooth. A couple of close encounters with aircraft. A great day for some first thermals and 3000'+ Good to see red ribbons strutting their stuff. A welcome change,from the poor weather recently.

Report from the Jurassic Coast

 
     
Well 4 of us flew, 1 went on beyond Charmouth but the rest of turned back. I could not get across West Bay I was on half bar and progress was very slow. So I went back and soared the lower cliffs even then the wind was blowing 25mph.
Could also see a Helicopter.

2 Sites same day. Started off at Ringstead and then went to the Horse. Good to see the Red Ribbons strutting their stuff.
Others ventured to the next Club, Beer & Eype.

Having read the forecasts it didn't seem likely that we would fly. However, always expect the unexpected? A call from Jamie B to say the thermals were coming through, I ventured up to join in the fun.
Definitely, not as challenging as yesterday and able to maintain without the thermals.
Thermals were not giving much height 300' ATO However an enjoyable afternoon.

Whitehorse After a long and sweaty walk in (& out) it was a challenging day. Some thermal cycles but not enough to maintain any length of time in the air.

A good day flying the Horse at Osmington, After a false start at Ringstead we 4 went to the track and had eyes on James maintaining. So it was get on and fly. Good thermals lasted for 5 hours with a few more turning up to also enjoy the conditions.
Some need to learn etiquette for thermalling.

Report by "The Wessex" in Walse

   
A good day out for Wessex in Wales. An early start with Steve and Tabby and a long drive.
Strong on launch, too much for many, had to pick your moment. Lots of thermals some with sharp edges.
So not a lot of photos.Some made it to Hay Bluff and then to Castle Meadows. All in all a good day for those that made the effort.
